All through the years Protan has been a supplier of lacquered qualities. These products have been surface treated with a solvent based acrylic lacquer system. Protan is now introducing a new surface treatment, based on a newly developed lacquer system based on PVDF technology.
This PVDF surface treatment is a high quality lacquer system, based on modified fluorine polymers. Traditional lacquered qualities within this product group are very often based on an acrylic system, a satisfactory quality, but with limitations compared with a surface treatment with our newly developed PVDF system.
The coating and lacquering is carried out at our factory in Drammen – Norway.
In addition, the newly developed PVDF system is based on water technology. This shows our commitment to the environmental aspects, both internally and externally. The outlet from this production mostly generates water vapour, and generates therefore no smell of solvents in the production area or in the products.
The fact that the lacquer is water based makes the self-cleanability of the material even better than solvent based.

This surface treatment will extend the lifetime of the products and make sure that theaesthetic properties are attended. The products are weldable with HF, hot air and hot wedge.
